On 18-19 December 2019, Ludenara and Badan Amil Zakat Nasional(BAZNAS) went to Lombok and Palu for SIAGA Boardgame Roadshow. This roadshow marked the final process of developing SIAGA Boardgame after several playtest in various cities.
On the first day, 50 primary school teachers gathered for Game-Based Learning Workshop to learn how SIAGA Boardgame can help them to teach disaster mitigation in school. The workshop was divided into 2 sessions, play session and implementation session. At play session, teachers played SIAGA Boardgame as disaster response teams that need to prepare citizens before a disaster happens. They can teach and train citizens about disasters and start collecting help and supply for post-disaster. During the game, facilitators answered the teacher’s questions regarding the gameplay and learning message from the game. At implementation session, facilitators gave teachers learning kits that included in SIAGA Boardgame. Teachers tried the learning kits and discuss how they can implement it in their class. The discussion also includes modification of the learning kit for various themes and education levels.
On the second day, facilitators visit one primary school to have a simulation on SIAGA Boardgame for teachers. 24 primary school students from 4 – 6 grade joined the session and played the game. After the game session, students discussed the potential disaster in different areas, such as a river, mountain and beach. To wrap up the session, students filled one of the learning kit, which is the items that need to be put in emergency bag.
From the whole roadshow, Kummara and BAZNAS hope that SIAGA Boardgame and its learning kit can bring more awareness about disaster mitigation in school.
