
Eko Nugroho, CEO Kummara, became one of the speaker for International Panel Session at SPIEL’19 in Essen, Germany. SPIEL is the world’s largest public fair for games, especially board games. Held in an exhibition space of more than 86,000 sqm, there are over 200,000 visitors attended the event in 2019.
The title of the panel is “How Board Games Make The World A Better Place”. The session discussed about how publishers are now offering to take used games back for recycling or paying attention during production to use materials and processes that protect the environment and also raising awareness about environmental protection and sustainability as those themes are becoming more popular.
In the session, Eko presented some of Kummara’s works that raise social and environment issue, such as Akatara (renewable energy – collaboration with HIVOS), Galaxy Obscurio (peace and tolerance – collaboration with Peace Generation) and SIAGA (disaster mitigation – collaboration with BAZNAS).
Beside Eko, another speakers are Rajive Gupta (Queen Games, Germany), Chi Wei Lin (Shepherd Kit, Taiwan), Jelena Kuhn (Bioviva, France) and Romina Schwark (Jumbo Spiele, Germany).
